Production banner Viacom18 Motion Pictures on Monday announced its association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the upcoming magnum opus "Padmavati".

The film, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, will soon go on floors. It will release next year.

Viacom18 Motion Pictures is known for bringing films like "Kahaani", "Special 26", "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", "Queen", "Mary Kom" and "Drishyam" along with Hollywood projects like "Mission Impossible" and "Transformers".

Talking about the association, Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, said: "Viacom18 Motion Picture believes in redefining Indian cinema with differentiated content. An epic story brought to life by Sanjay's genius for grandeur, drama and above all storytelling, 'Padmavati' has the makings of a blockbuster."

"Padmavati" is the banner's third collaboration with Bhansali Productions after the back-to-back success of "Mary Kom" and "Gabbar is Back".

After "Bajirao Mastani" also hit the bull's eye, Bhansali is happy with the association.
