Domestic handset-maker Videocon on Tuesday launched two new budget smartphones - Videocon Z51 Punch and Videocon Z51Q Star - priced at Rs.5,999 and Rs.5, 490 respectively.
"Videocon Mobile phones endeavours to meet the emerging requirements of value-for-money smartphones, which combine robust performance with unmatched features. Our smartphones are targeted at users who aspire to own a good-looking phone, which offers the best of features at a pocket friendly price," said Videocon Mobiles' chief executive Jerold Pereira.
"The newly-launched smartphones Z51 Punch and Z51Q Star offer a unique combination of speed and features, high on style and all at a very competitive pricing. With our latest smartphone range, we aim to ensure that the varied needs of new-age smartphone users are being fulfilled indigenously," he added.
The Z51 Punch, which comes with a five-inch display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and a 1 GB RAM unit. The phone will have an eight-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel front camera. The device, which will have an internal memory of 8 GB expandable to 32 GB, is powered by a 3,000 mAH battery.
The Videocon Z51Q Star will come with lower camera specifications (five-megapixel rear and two-megapixel front) and weaker battery (2,000 mAH).
Both the new smartphones will also come with the V-Safe app, a safety tool designed for women, elderly people and children for security purpose in any emergency along with V-Secure mobile security app to protect the device against malware and malicious apps.
