The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice to a whistleblower in the Vyapam recruitment scam, while hearing a CBI plea to provide it copies of documents and a pen-drive sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad.

Justice P.S. Teji sought response from the whistleblower, who was named as Mr. X in the petition, by July 11.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) moved an application before the court seeking directions to provide copies of the documents and the pen drive, saying that it would help the agency in probing the case and verify the whistleblower's allegations of tampering.

The whistleblower had alleged that the documents and pen-drive were tempered.

The CBI moved an application seeking the copies as the forensic lab has refused to provide them.

It was on CBI's plea earlier that the high court had forwarded the documents and the pen-drive to the CFSL for examination.

The whistleblower, a computer expert (digital forensic engineer) by profession, had earlier moved the Delhi High Court For protection alleging that while working for the STF during the probe into the Vyapam scam, he became privy to certain information, which, according to him, was damaging to highly-placed individuals within the government and administration in Madhya Pradesh.

The scam involves massive irregularities and corruption in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or MP Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam).
