Security forces have arrested from Assam's Chirang district two National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants, including its self-styled commander-in-chief, police said on Friday.
IGP (Bodoland Territorial Area Districts) L.R. Bishnoi said the arrested militants were self styled commander-in-chief Rongjabaja alias Rabi Basumatary and his body guard Jekhai.
The militants of anti-talk faction of NDFB were involved in the last year's December 23 massacre of adivasi people in Assam, he said.
"One AK 56 rifle, 170 rounds of AK 56 ammunition, 70 rounds of INSAS ammunition, three grenades and some incriminating documents have been recovered from their possession," said Bishnoi.
He said a joint team of the army, police and Sasastra Seema Bal arrested the militants from Morabari jungle.
Meanwhile, six people were arrested for their alleged involvement in Jehadi activities from different locations of the district since Thursday.
