Announcing "Incredible India" as the working title of his next book, former Tata Sons director R. Gopalakrishnan on Friday said while discussing intolerance, we never realise what the country has to offer.

"With all this talk about intolerance and this and that... I dont think we realise the tapestry of what we have in our country when we read our morning newspaper or worse still, get on television," he said here at the curtain raiser of the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet 2016.

Talking about his latest book "Six Lenses - Vignettes of Success, Career and Relationships", Gopalakrishan shared his ideas on his next writings.

"One is about incredible India and I have a number of experiences which stated very simply, say as a casual business traveller what is my main interest in the country I am visiting.

"I have always looked at a horizontal view which tells you what makes a country work the way it does, and I developed a presentation about India to explain it to foreigners which has been extremely well-received by foreigners because they don't know any better any way and I am hoping it can be a template," he said.

However, he clarified the idea had germinated around 10 years ago and didn't stem from the current debate on intolerance.

His other book is based on his observation of "the interplay of Anglo-Saxon way of thinking and Indian way of thinking".

"I thought of talking in management terms about the influence of your background and culture," he added.
