Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber was punished for taking a ride from Spanish driver Fernando Alonso's Ferrari at the end of Singapore Formula One Grand Prix.
Both drivers were hit with a reprimand by stewards after Alonso gave Webber a lift back to the pit lane at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix here Sunday, reports Xinhua.
It is the third time Webber has been reprimanded this season, meaning he will receive a 10-place penalty on the grid at the next grand prix in South Korea.
The incident came after Webber pulled off the track with his car in flames following an engine failure on the final lap.
Rather than having a slow post-race walk back to the pits, he dashed out onto the race track, hailed Alonso's Ferrari like it was a taxi and then clambered onto the side pod for a quicker ride back.
Alonso had already finished the race in second, behind German driver Sebastian Vettel.
