Satya Paul's fashion director Masaba Gupta showcased a colourful line at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) autumn-winter 2014 here. While she adhered to her signature style, she didn't hesitate to try something as new as metallics.
The Satya Paul autumn-winter 2014 collection titled 'Icarus' used colours like toffee brown, lilac, nude, soft pink and mint.
The colour blocked outfits gelled with the metallic elements.
"I enjoy colour blocking. That's my signature style. Garments can be made lively or morbid through colours," she told reporters here after the show Friday.
The collection reflected her signature style well, but she even took a chance by going metallic.
"I never thought I would use metallics, but I love burgundy so, I chose that and the way it reflects light is beautiful," she said.

The models dressed either in saris with polo neck full sleeve blouses or shift dresses or pants, walked the ramp with metallic burgundy hairband and shoes. Some of them even completed the look with backpacks or clutches.
The pieces made of silks, jersey, crepe and chiffon, had unique prints too.
She has used activities in people's lives to tell stories through prints. For instance, iron burnt mark on garment, a running tap dripping water, water being poured into a glass and more.
With hardly any space to stand, the fashionistas lauded the new collection. But the most impressed seemed to be her actress-mother Neena Gupta, who sat in the front row along with actress Soha Ali Khan and designer Wendell Rodricks.
