Wild elephants went on a rampage in Bihar's Bagaha district, killing at least two people and injuring two others, police said on Tuesday.
"A group of wild elephants killed two people late Monday in Valmiki Tiger Reserve," a district police official said.
It is the only tiger reserve in the state.
The elephants also damaged standing kharif crop, destroyed several houses, and created fear and panic among the villagers, the official added.
The forest department has announced a compensation of Rs.2 lakh to the kin of each of the victims.
