Manchester City and Stoke City reached an agreement on Wednesday regarding the loan of Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony to the English football club.

Bony, 27, could not leave his mark with the Citizens, and started in only 15 English Premier League games since he signed for the Manchester side in January 2015 for 28 million pounds sterling ($36.5 million), reports Efe.

The forward will play in Stoke City on loan for one season.

On his official Twitter account, the striker wrote: "Thank You to all the MCFC fans for the support & hello to Stoke City fans I look forward to a great season together."

Currently, Stoke City is at the bottom of the 2016-17 Premier League table after being defeated in two matches and managing a single draw, while the club awaits another transfer before the current summer open window closes on Wednesday.

Moments after completing the deal, Stoke City manager Mark Hughes told the club's website: "Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for us to be perfectly honest, because he knows the Premier League and has scored plenty of goals at this level."
