Miami, May 8 (IANS/EFE) Cuban actor William Levy will star with Jada Pinkett-Smith in a new film that has as its background the world of salsa.
The film "Salsa" will tell the story of a woman (Pinkett-Smith) who finds herself in a transition phase in her life and gets to know a salsa instructor (Levy), and through dance she begins to see life in another way.
Amy Heckerling will write and direct, while Pinkett-Smith and Miguel Melendez will co-produce the film.
Levy, 32, two years ago was named the world's most attractive Latino man by People en Español magazine and he has starred in successful television soap operas such as "Sortilegio", "Cuidado con el angel" and "El triunfo del amor".
The Cuban-born actor, who immigrated to Miami at age 15, recently finished filming two movies for Lionsgate - "Addicted" and "Single Moms Club" - and he is now preparing "La Tempestad", which will air on Hispanic television in June.
In a recent interview with EFE, Levy said that he continues to be "the same boy who left Cuba, although today I have more responsibilities".
