Winless Chievo Verona earned its third Serie A tie this season, as it played visiting Bologna to a 2-2 tie and broke its seven-game losing streak.
Sampdoria forward Federico Santander struck early on Sunday, scoring just three minutes after the first whistle, but Chievo responded with two goals before the break, reports Efe.
Striker Riccardo Meggiorini scored on a successful penalty attempt in the 20th minute, while midfielder Joel Obi gave the hosts the lead just before first half stoppage time.
Sampdoria winger Riccardo Orsolini drew level 11 minutes after the break, off an assist by Ladislav Krejci.
Despite getting its third draw of the season, Chievo remained in last place with zero points, as Serie A had deducted three points from the club after it was caught falsifying its financial accounting.
Bologna moved to the 16th spot in the standings with ten points.
