A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for killing her husband early Monday with the help of the victim's brother-in-law with whom she was allegedly having an illicit relationship, police said.
The incident was reported from east Delhi's Usmanpur area where the woman, a mother of three, resides with her husband Dileep, 35, and his brother-in-law Satender.
Police said Dileep's body was recovered from his home after neighbours made a call to police.
The victim's wife Shanti, who was later arrested, initially informed police that her husband had fallen down the stairs in the night which led to his death.
"As we found several wound marks of a pointed weapon on the victim's body, Shanti was interrogated. She broke down and admitgted to having killed her husband with the help of Satender," said a police officer.
The officer said that Shanti had an illicit relationship with Satender. "As her husband knew about their relationship, they used to fight over the issue."

"The victim and Satender consumed alcohol on Sunday night and they later indulged in a heated argument over the illicit relationship issue. The victim's wife then along with Satender killed him," said the official.
Satender is on the run and a hunt is on to nab him, the officer added.
