The State Election Commission here has lauded young women for their participation as campus ambassadors for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
At a training-cum-workshop Tuesday, Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev expressed happiness over the participation of young women in the electoral process which he said "will go a long way in ensuring electoral participation of women in Delhi".
The campus ambassadors, considered to be "non-partisan and politically neutral students" have been chosen from various educational institutes across the city to educate voters, organise activities relating to voter participation, and help enroll new electors.
"The catalytic role of each campus ambassador will make a remarkable difference in the democratic process," Dev added.
He further emphasized on channelising the energy of youth in motivating electors to come out in large numbers during the election in the national capital.
