Arunachal Pradesh Governor P.B. Acharya on Sunday asked leaders of all political parties to work for the development of the state.
BJP delegates led by state unit President Tapir Gao, former Deputy Chief Minister and People's Party of Arunachal legislator Kameng Dolo and veteran Congress legislator and former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki met the Governor and discussed developmental issues.
During the meeting, the Governor exhorted them to reach out to people in every corner of the state and ensure that fruits of development are benefited by every citizen.
"For a successful and vibrant democracy both the ruling and the opposition parties play an important role, all should work for the development of the state," Acharya said.
Asking the ruling BJP not to hamper the development of opposition legislators' constituencies, he said: "This is against the principle of a mature democracy."
"We are a strategic border area state and we have to be united and work for the nation," Acharya emphasised.
