Beirut, Jan 8 (IANS/EFE) The Syrian National Coalition, the main Syrian political opposition group, has said that the world must stand firm against terrorism after the attack in Paris against the satirical weekly "Charlie Hebdo" in which 12 people killed.
In a statement released late Wednesday, the coalition stressed that the Syrian people were particularly aware of the horror of terrorist acts, especially those that aim to undermine stability and security, achieve political goals, impose certain ideas or prevent freedom.
Masked gunmen armed with automatic weapons attacked the Paris offices of the magazine early Wednesday, killing 12 people, including "Charlie Hebdo"'s editor and three acclaimed cartoonists, and wounding more than 20 others before making a well-prepared getaway.
"We trust that the people of France will cope with these crimes and bring these people to justice," said the note, which urged the world to unite under the banner of humanity.
