Telugu director P. Sunil Kumar Reddy, who collaborated with novelist Balabhadrapatruni Ramani, says a relationship of mutual understanding between the director and the writer is equally important for the success of any film.
The duo has come together for upcoming Telugu romantic-drama "Nenem Chinnapillana".
"It doesn't matter who has penned the story of a film, but when a writer and director don't understand the soul of the story, it has adverse effect on the output. A director and his writer should share a mutually understanding relationship, be on the same page while working for the film," Sunil Kumar told IANS.
"They should perceive the film together, agree upon changes and always be open to suggestions. One small misunderstanding and everything can go topsy-turvy," he added.
Ramani is known for penning novels such as "Mogude Rendo Priyudu" and "Evare Athagadu".
"We sat together and discussed the story even before we started shooting. Ramani even gave me the freedom to make changes to the script, if needed," said the director.
The film features Rahul Ravindran and Tanvi Vyas in the lead roles. It is produced by D. Ramanaidu.
