WWE Superstar Sheamus, who essays the villain Rocksteady in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows", says he has always been in awe of the darker side of the comic series.
Sheamus, whose given name is Stephen Farrelly, is an ardent follower of the 1987 animated series ever since he was a child, and says he was excited about taking up a role in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sequel.
"Ever since childhood, I have been a huge fan of the series which is popular not just in America but all over the world. My friends and I would watch it all the time, every morning and afternoon," Sheamus said in a statement.
He added: "I have especially been a fan of the villains in the series and I jumped at the opportunity to play Rocksteady in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2'. There's also a lot of humour so the character kind of grows on you."
Rocksteady is a recurring villain from the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise. He was a human who gets mutated into an anthropomorphic rhinoceros and is loyal to the main antagonist in the series, Shredder - the leader of the Foot Clan.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows", directed by David Green, also stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Tyler Perry, Stephen Amell, Brian Tee and Gary Anthony Williams. It released in India on June 3.
