Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha was arrested for leading a demonstration in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh town and was sent to judicial custody Tuesday after he refused to furnish the bail bond.
A court in Hazaribagh Tuesday sent Sinha to 14 days' judicial custody as he refused to furnish the bail bond.
Sinha was arrested Monday night after he led a group that held a demonstration at the state Electricity Board office in Hazaribagh. The demonstrators detained general manager Dhanesh Jha.
Police rushed to the spot and arrested Sinha and others. They were presented Tuesday before the court, which sent Sinha to judicial custody for refusing to furnish a bail bond.
