Zambia's head coach Honor Janza described the football team's loss in their second qualifying match of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations against Cape Verde as "shocking".
The Chipolopolo (the Bullets) went down 1-2 to Cape Verde at the National Stadium in Praia town, a result that leaves the team with only one point from two games, reports Xinhua.
"It was a shocking result. I think we dominated them and the three points we lost here were vital for us. But we should not look back. We still have four matches to play and they will be crucial to our qualification for Morocco 2015," he said in an interview posted on the official Facebook page of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Thursday.
The coach expressed solace that the other teams in the group, Mozambique and Niger also had settled for a draw.
"This is wake-up call for us because we cannot rely on results from other matches to remain in contention; no one is going to make us qualify but ourselves. Our players need 100 percent concentration throughout the 90 minutes. Every player must be disciplined tactically and technically," he added.
The Zambian trainer further thought a goal scored by midfielder Rainford Kalaba which was disallowed in the 44th minute should have changed the game if it had stood.
