Zee Entertainment on Wednesday reported a substantial increase of 42 per cent in net profit for the quarter ended March 31.
According to a filing to the BSE, its net profit during the quarter rose to Rs 262 crore from Rs 184.39 crore reported for the corresponding period of 2015-16, while standalone total income grew 11.63 per cent to Rs 1,268 crore from Rs 1,135.85 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of 2015-16.
The company's consolidated net profit jumped 568.47 per cent during the January to March quarter to Rs 1,514 crore from Rs 226.52 per cent in the corresponding period of 2015-16.
Its consolidated total income grew 1.5 per cent to Rs 1,583 crore from Rs 1,559 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of 2015-16.
For the full financial year 2016-17, the firm's standalone net profit saw an increase by 57 per cent to Rs 1,034 crore from Rs 658 crore earned during 2015-16.
Its standalone total income for 2016-17 rose by 19 per cent to Rs 5,275.51 crore as compared to Rs 4,432.56 crore in 2015-16.

The company's consolidated net profit in the financial year 2016-17 increased by 170 per cent to Rs 2,220 crore as compared to Rs 824 crore in 2015-16.
Its consolidated total income in 2016-17 jumped by 11 per cent to Rs 6,658 crore as compared to Rs 6,008 crore in 2015-16.
The company's Board of Directors has approved a dividend of Rs 2.50 per share, equivalent to 250 per cent of the paid up equity share capital, for financial year 2016-17.
