With the finance ministry out to introduce legislation on the Direct Taxes Code as well as the Goods and Services Tax in the monsoon session of Parliament, the ministry’s clerical staff is working overtime. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee often schedules meetings late in the evening and on weekends, and the clerical staffers also need to be there.
