There was one unexpected fallout of the Khobragade-Richard episode in Delhi. Peter Lavoy, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defence for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs (APSA), had arrived in the capital to hold a briefing on the US role in Afghanistan and the post-drawdown situation. A well-liked figure in the Indian strategic analysts' community, Lavoy arrived to find that no one would host him. Finally, the briefing had to be held at the residence of a US diplomat.
