Considering how frequently it is being tossed about, the term "vote-cutter" will soon secure a place among political swear words. Former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Rajesh Ranjan, better known as Pappu Yadav, has called RJD chief Lalu Prasad a "vote katua" (vote-cutter) in a recent interview to a news daily. One would remember that in 2013, the Bharatiya Janata Party had called rival Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a "vote-cutter" party and its leaders Arvind Kejriwal (now chief minister of Delhi), Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai and some others agents of the Congress. It is a different matter altogether that within a year-and-a-half of that jibe the AAP managed to wrest power in Delhi with a thumping majority, but as the Bihar Assembly election draws near, one is sure to hear that term bandied about once again.
