Singer and performer Adnan Sami has found a powerful new protector in Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh, who met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked him to exert his influence with Home Minister P Chidambaram to allow Sami to stay on in India, because “he is a good singer and has many admirers in India”. Singh says the PM has assured him he would help. The Enforcement Directorate had conducted raids on Sami in 2010 and his property, allegedly bought without RBI’s permission, was seized.
