The Nehru Memorial Museum & Library had "some time back" recorded the reminiscences of a retired civil servant as part of its oral history project. It appears that it is now in the process of finalising the transcripts of the recorded conversation. Maintaining the noble tradition of running the transcripts past the interviewee, it has sent out a letter seeking his approval and requested for an urgent response. This would have been laudable, except that the interviews with the eminent civil servant were conducted almost 40 years ago and the Library appears to be seeking the interviewee's approval only now. Worse, the Library has been oblivious to the fact that the interviewee had passed away more than three decades ago. Those who have taken part in the Library's oral history project or wish to do so, beware!
