If imitation is the best form of flattery, then the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should take heart from the Congress Party's attempts to copy its sloganeering ahead of the Haryana Assembly elections. Both parties have chosen to use variations of the BJP's popular "Abki baar Modi sarkar" (This time, it's the Modi government's turn) campaign during the general elections. The BJP has had a head start with "Dilli Hui Hamari, Ab Haryana Ki Bari" (The BJP won in Delhi, now it's Haryana's turn) and "Jan-Jan Ki Yehi Pukar Abki Baar Haryana Main BJP Sarkar" (This time, the people want a BJP government in Haryana). Not to be left behind, the Congress has coined a somewhat weak riposte: "Kar Liya Hai Faisla...Abki Baar Congress Ki Teesri Sarkar" (It's decided, Congress will come to power in Haryana for a third time), a defiant reference to its 10 years in power in the state.
