West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee pulled a pleasant surprise during her five-day tour of Britain. To spread the message that Bengal was ready for business and tourism, the state government took out two advertisements - one in The Daily Telegraph and the other in the Financial Times. The ads didn't carry photographs of Banerjee, probably because of the Indian Supreme Court's restrictions on the use of chief ministers' pictures in government advertisements.
