Adding star power

DMK is getting jittery now. There is a trickle of film stars to the AIADMK side, with small film stars taking their place beside Jayalalithaa on the stage in campaigns and public meetings. By themselves, the film stars don’t represent a political force but they are an important force multiplier for any political leader. The latest to drift towards AIADMK is film producer and director S A Chandrasekar, father of actor Vijay. He called on AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa on December 12. Obviously, it was not a courtesy call because AIADMK issued a press release announcing that Vijay’s father had met Jayalalithaa.
