Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy is upset that a newspaper story on the Narendra Modi-led Cabinet's Twitter hierarchy didn't mention the thousands of Twitter followers he, Swamy, had. According to an information and broadcasting ministry list, Modi leads with a Twitter following of 8.18 million followers, followed by Sushma Swaraj with 1.44 million followers and Smriti Z Irani with 652,000 followers. Swamy, who has 741,000 followers on the microblogging site, fumed on Twitter that the newspaper's ranking was "embarrassing" since he was "number 3 in BJP" and the newspaper's "favourite" (we assume he is referring to Irani) is "way below me". Swamy chose to ignore the fact that the list pertained to Twitter followers of Cabinet ministers, not BJP leaders, and however hard he may wish, Modi doesn't have any space for him in his Council of Ministers.
