Differences within the BJP refuse to die even when the party faces tough challenges on account of the Liberhan Commission report. First, BJP President Rajnath Singh told reporters that the party wanted a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into how the report got leaked to the media. Within hours, senior party leader Murli Manohar Joshi said a CBI probe was not needed and insisted on a joint Parliamentary committee investigation. “This is an issue in which Parliament’s honour and privilege have been tarnished. So, we, the MPs, will probe the issue. There is no need for any outside agency to probe this,” he said.
