The conclusion of the Gujarat Assembly polls is set to give Prime Minister Narendra Modi (pictured) ample time to focus on his international engagements. The polls scheduled in the first three months of 2018 are to the Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya Assemblies.

In January, the PM is set to host leaders of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the commemorative India-ASEAN Summit. These leaders will also be the chief guests at the Republic Day Parade.

This apart, the PM will host Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in January; French President Emmanuel Macron is also scheduled to visit India early next year.
