Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Ravindra Gaikwad hit an Air India employee with slippers when he was made to fly economy class “despite” having a business class pass on a Pune-Delhi flight. The incident created a furore and Air india was quick to lodge a first information report against the MP. Gaikwad, however, was nonchalant and said it was within his rights to beat up the airline employee because the latter had raised his voice against an MP. The incident comes to light at a time when the government is planning to compile a no-fly list as unruly behaviour among passengers increases.
