Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest at the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors' Summit and after his usual stirring address he told the audience "Me ek chhoti si gustakhi karna chahta hun" (I want to be a little cheeky). The "cheekiness" involved urging Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan not to stand on protocol and see Modi off at Indore airport since his presence was required at the summit. Chouhan duly honoured this request and asked Industry Minister Yashodhra Raje Scindia to do the honours in his stead. But Modi declined that, too, and asked her to stay while he made his way back alone. Now people in state political circles are trying to extract the implications of Modi's "gustakhi". Among the questions doing the rounds: why did Modi choose to indulge his "gustakhi" in public, and which political leader actually did go to see him off at Indore airport?
