A war of words broke out between an executive of a public sector general insurance firm and an official from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on the former's exclusion from a crop insurance scheme. The insurance company official insisted that his firm was not included in the list of insurers, which could take part in the scheme.
The ministry official was quick to point out that his firm had not "asked" to be part of the scheme to begin with. "Even Lord Ram had to put forth his questions to Sage Vashishta before he got a response," he explained, adding that the firm should have followed the same procedure.
