Don't idolise Nathuram Godse, says Rajnath Singh

For those who missed it, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in the Rajya Sabha last week that anyone who sought to worship Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, must be punished by the state government concerned. Amid rumours of temples being planned in Uttar Pradesh and other places in memory of Godse, the minister said, “How can anyone worship Godse? I request all state governments to remain alert and should such an event take place, punish the organisers.” Law and order is the responsibility of state governments.
