The young Turks of the Congress have hardly been seen in action during these Assembly polls. But one MP, cricketer-turned-MP Mohammad Azharuddin, is in great demand for the campaign. He would be campaigning in West Bengal continuously for four days. Realising his importance as a star campaigner, particularly in the minority-dominated areas, Azharuddin has even created a website www.azhar.com and uploaded pictures and videos of his previous campaigns. “I am a party worker. Whenever and wherever my leaders would call me, I will make myself available for party work,” he said. As he has totally distanced himself from today’s cricket, Azhar is not watching the IPL matches. Moreover, the poll campaign gives him a good excuse to stay away from the TV.
