After Anna Hazare, Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has become a popular fast-unto-death location. At present, six people from a social organisation in Pune have been fasting for the last four days demanding the removal of either Shanti Bhushan or his son Prashant Bhushan from the Lok Pal Bill drafting committee. Another self-described swami from Varanasi is protesting against pollution in the Yamuna. Four members of the Tibetan Youth Congress are on a fast against the human rights violations in Tibet. Though not on a fast, an organisation called the Akhil Bhartiya Juta Maro Aandolan (All India Shoe Throwing Movement) is also there, asking passersby to throw shoes at the corrupt. Unlike Anna Hazare, these protestors are alone in their efforts, barring the odd policeman.
