In the aftermath of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, many had attributed the Congress' dwindling popularity among the youth to its lack of social media savvy. On Monday, two weeks after the office of party vice-president Rahul Gandhi made its debut on Twitter, Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram joined the micro-blogging site and posted a series of tweets taking potshots at the Modi government, which is celebrating a year in office. Among other things, Chidambaram said, "A king with no guardian or critic to rebuke him, will be ruined even if he has no enemies" and that "we will not have double-digit growth by simply accusing the opposition #AICCPressConference".
