Organisers of the week-long Jammu & Kashmir festival in the capital were left in the lurch when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who was to inaugurate it, suddenly decided to dash back home. The function to showcase the state’s art, culture and cuisine began more than two hours late, but that did not matter too much since the audience mostly comprised officials of the state government and their families.
