At a recent insurance summit, Sudhir Mungantiwar, minister of finance, planning and forests, government of Maharashtra, borrowed heavily from Bollywood to explain his point. While speaking about the extended family structure prevalent in India earlier, which limited the need for insurance to an extent, he said, the structure had "moved from Hum Saath Saath Hain to Hum Aapke Hain Kaun". Nowadays, people were least bothered about the community, he said. "For them, it is, 'Main aur mera parivaar, baaki sab bekaar'."
