While many other MPs had to vacate their bungalows and flats after losing the last Lok Sabha election, Lok Janashakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan didn’t move out of his official bungalow. After his party’s debacle in the general election, Paswan continued to stay at 14 Janpath while paying the market rent for it, confident he’d soon be back as an MP. With the help of Lalu Prasad, he has now won a Rajya Sabha seat from Bihar. Paswan has been living in the same house for nearly a decade now — more important, the house is strategically located next to 10 Janpath, the residence of Sonia Gandhi.
