M S Gill, former sports minister and currently minister of state for statistics and programme implementation, cannot seem to shake off the “commonwealth”. Gill, who inaugurated the Commonwealth conference for statisticians in the Capital on Monday, claimed that the scam-hit Commonwealth Games went off successfully. “The games were a huge success — everybody came and I see most representatives have come for this meet too,” Gill confidently told officials at the conference, even as reporters joked about how the “commonwealth” has followed Gill to the ministry.
