Congress scion Rahul Gandhi may be basking in the glory of his supposed role in rejuvenating the party, but not everyone believes this is the case. At a recent meeting of the Kerala unit of the party, firebrand MP P T Thomas launched a scathing attack on what he termed the ‘corporate style management of a political party’ that had been introduced by new leaders in the party.
Thomas, to the utter embarrassment of Defence Minister A K Antony who was presiding over the meeting, said that political parties could not be run merely on the basis of leaders who had good bio-datas as even those who paste posters and hoist flags need to be accommodated. A flustered Antony chided Thomas for raising the issues pertaining to 'central leaders' at the state-level meet.
