There is a God I did not know about until I got this press release which thoughtfully had a photograph of Sri Krishna Maa (name changed) attached to it. It was about her birthday celebration, and her prime disciple, Tully Baba, sent us an invitation to get her blessings.

It is much tougher to remember the godmen of this holy country which is already filled with many Gods. But SKM is a familiar face. And why not? Her face, caked in make-up, is propped up on billboards across the city.

This could be just another indication of slowdown in businesses, while God's business is growing. But, SKM is not spending money to show off her face. She, in fact, has a devotee in the owner of a billboard company. I get regular press releases of that company as well, the latest being a bulk deal they signed with an underwear company.

Yet another unique feature of advertising on God's own platform, apart from her blessings, I am sure, is that an image of SKM comes free on the top right hand side of many ads. Even as this 'young' billboard company is gaining traction, SKM also lends her blessed face (blessings face) to those billboard that are yet to gain ads.

Sri Krishna Maa was formerly a Punjabi housewife, who found her calling, to realise that she is God herself. Ever since, this glamourous lady, who could put many leading actresses to shame, has become the face of God to the many few, who believe that she can work miracles.

One of her miracles (available online) as narrated by a student, shows how far reaching SKM's network can be. The student who was from a modest background, was gifted a mobile phone (basic, feature phone) by her father. The very first day that she took it out, the girl lost it in a crowded train. She felt a sense of loss. While she went running to a police station to file a complaint, she saw SKM's face on a billboard. A divine energy emanated from it, reassuring the scared girl. Though the police told her that it is very unlikely that a mobile phone can be recovered from a train, she got a call from them three days later. The phone was returned to her, safe and sound. Ever since, she became a believer.

It is a miracle indeed. Not just because a basic-level phone was found unscathed from the greedy hands of mobile thieves, but also SKM could mad our apathy-ridden police department to care enough. Now, all I can hope for is that such divine energy could help SKM's clients gain some sales. Our slowdown-ridden economy could use a few miracles. Amen and Jai Matadi.
