That Arvind Kejriwal is not known to respect dress codes was evident when he arrived at the President's "national dress only" Republic Day party dressed in his trademark casual trousers, sweater, muffler and brown sandals. Not that this seems to bother anybody. Just as at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he was mobbed when he arrived thus attired at a formal party at German Ambassador Michael Steiner's residence for the visiting German President Joachim Gauck. And not just by Indians. The accompanying German media and aides of the visiting president queued up to be photographed with the politician whose unconventional politics has riveted India. Perhaps they had reason to be excited since Gauck is also an activist-turned-politician. Whatever the reason, Kejriwal emerged as the star of the evening.
