If Indian cities were ranked on an index of thirst, Gurgaon, near Delhi, would have emerged the clear winner. The cyber and corporate hub of north India, it seems, has an unquenchable thirst for colas and fizzy drinks. While the per capita consumption of colas in India hovers at 14 bottles a year, for Gurgaon it is 240 bottles, claim industry executives. Whether one believes these figures or not, being the country headquarters of two Cola giants - Coca-Cola and PepsiCo - Gurgaon would appear an apt winner.
