Omar Abdullah is not known to let the grass grow under his feet. Opposition MLA Nizamudin Bhat said in the Assembly that a large number of houses in a remote village had been gutted; Abdullah said this was not true. Within hours of the House adjourning for the day, Bhat was flown to the village. Once he saw that just one house had been destroyed in the fire, he apologised in the Assembly and said he’d been carried away by false propaganda.
