Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said he was happy that his senior in the party, M Venkaiah Naidu, who held the charge before him, was getting more media attention during the ongoing session of Parliament. Naidu, who is quite media savvy, is often the first one to come up with the government’s viewpoint whenever the Opposition raises an issue before television cameras. Kumar usually keeps himself busy, coordinating with the Opposition parties with help from two junior colleagues, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in the Rajya Sabha and S S Ahluwalia in the Lok Sabha. Incidentally, Naidu, who also holds the information and broadcasting portfolio, is often seen defending the Centre’s controversial decisions before the media.
