I-T is cool on Koda

It seems that many people, except income-tax officials, spent sleepless nights imagining Madhu Koda might run away after being charged in a disproportionate assets case. Ajit Kumar Srivastava, additional commissioner (investigations) of the income-tax department and the chief probe officer, however, maintains that it’s not easy for Koda to slip away, as he is a member of Parliament. Recently, while Srivastava was sleeping in the wee hours of the day, a zealous informer woke him up to say: “Sir, Madhu Koda is taking a flight from Ranchi airport at 7 am today. Please go and stop him.” Srivastava, somehow controlled his anger and replied: “There is no 7 am flight from Ranchi. So, you go to sleep again and let me sleep as well.”
