On his last day as finance minister, Pranab Mukherjee was busy posing for photographs with his staff and officers. Then some journalists covering the veteran leader’s last day in office also requested photographs. Many were not satisfied with a group photo and insisted on exclusive photos with Mukherjee, who happily obliged. Only a few journalists passed up the photo-op on the grounds that sharing a frame with Mukherjee would be inappropriate if their objectivity as a journalist were to be maintained. Naturally, they watched from a distance as others posed with the presidential candidate.
